The guiding ideas, goals and formation of the Youth Orchestra Study Camp and Festival are international in themselves. Originally the dream of a well-known conductor from the Far East, the International Youth Orchestra Study Camp coalesced and was brought into reality by an American, who was once the President and CEO of a large symphony orchestra. A teaching staff drawn from professionally trained and working musicians rounds out the IYOSG to make for a unique and unsurpassed experience for the young musician.
Auditions are now open for our summer 2012 workshop and festival.
Auditioning is simple and free. Simply download the audition file for your instrument; select one of the multiple choice selections as your audition material, record your performance of your selection to YouTube or other file and send it to us. The dates for the camp with instructors from leading orchestras and universities is scheduled to be held July 13 to July 27. Your audition will be evaluated by the instructor of the section of the orchestra in which you will be studying and performing.
